This year’s eruption sequence at Halemaʻumaʻu crater — fresh black lava fields contrast sharply with the older ones. The images are 10 m Sentinel-2 data, at
19 m per pixel — 7 clear days 2026. June 15. – 2026. August 19..
What does this image series show? Dark, fresh lava flows and ash-covered areas stand out clearly against the older surface; the white puffs are clouds or steam-and-ash plumes. The heat-signal numbers come from our own satellite measurement, and on the
volcano map they refresh every half hour. The series grows daily whenever a clear image is captured.
